The New Year came with a super exciting news. It’s just like the prayers of all the true FRIENDS fans was answered. Friends fans have been praying for a reunion for 11 years but cast members have remained unclear on whether it will ever happen.
But on 14th Jan 2016, at a press conference in Pasadena, CA, NBC announced that on Sunday February 21st, 2016, we will be blessed with a FRIENDS reunion. The show will be a two hour special that will air as a part of a tribute to director James Burrows.
Jennifer Aniston, Courtenay Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer are all expected to appear. Unfortunately, Matthew Perry aka Chandler Bing said he would not be able to make it due to his busy schedule. Apparently he is busy rehearsing for his new play The End of Longing in London. He said that he would be pre recording something and sending it across to the show.
Fans were warned that busy schedules may make it “logistically” impossible, but that part was universally ignored in the excitement. Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey, tweeted “Should be a good time!” after the news broke but as of yet there has been no word from Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer.
There have been some bitter moments between the six during these past few months. Jennifer and Courtney had a bitter fight and the guys were not invited for Jennifer’s wedding, etc. The reunion may be a bit awkward too.
But nevertheless, fingers crossed. Hope that this time there would actually be a reunion.
